The Wilmot
Managed workspace in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.
The Challenge
The Wilmot is a multi-floor managed workspace in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, housing a mix of private offices and coworking areas. The building needed high-density WiFi coverage across every floor, with tenant isolation and a failover connection to guarantee uptime for businesses that depend on being online.
Our Solution
We installed 9 Fortinet access points across all floors, connected through a 48-port managed switch and secured by a Fortigate 40F firewall. Each tenant gets their own VLAN for network isolation, and an FTTC backup connection ensures connectivity stays up even if the primary line drops. The whole system is managed and monitored 24/7.
The Result
The Wilmot offers its tenants genuinely fast, reliable WiFi from day one — no router setup, no IT headaches. The 9-AP deployment covers every corner of the building, and the FTTC failover has already proven its worth during a primary circuit outage. Tenant onboarding is seamless and takes minutes, not hours.
