Elle's Coventry
Elle's is Coventry's first social dining hub and food hall, located at the ground floor of Two Friargate, directly opposite Coventry Train Station. Backed by Dhillon's Brewery, the 8,000 sq ft venue features six independent kitchens and two boutique bars, serving vegan, halal, and non-halal options. Opened on 30 January 2026, Elle's was designed as a "shared living room for the city" — a vibrant space for commuters, families, and visitors alike.
The Challenge
Opening a brand new 8,000 sq ft food hall with six independent kitchens and two bars meant Elle's needed connectivity that could handle hundreds of simultaneous guests from day one. Each kitchen and bar requires its own EPOS and payment terminals, all needing reliable, low-latency access. Guest WiFi expectations in a modern dining venue are high — visitors expect instant, seamless connectivity. Behind the scenes, kitchen display systems, CCTV, AV systems, and staff devices all compete for bandwidth. With a fixed opening date of 30 January 2026, there was no room for delays or teething problems.
Our Solution
We deployed a complete Fortinet security and networking solution tailored to the demands of a high-density hospitality environment. A FortiGate 40F firewall anchors the network, providing enterprise-grade security with separate VLANs for guest WiFi, staff devices, and physical EPOS and AV systems — ensuring payment traffic is isolated and secure. A Fortinet switch distributes connectivity across the venue, while FortiAP access points deliver pervasive WiFi coverage across all indoor and outdoor areas, including the dining pods. The network was designed to handle peak capacity from the very first service, with Guest/Staff VLAN separation keeping customer traffic completely separate from business-critical systems.
The Result
Elle's opened its doors on 30 January 2026 with enterprise-grade connectivity ready from day one. All six kitchens and both bars operate on a secure, managed network with no dropped payments or connectivity issues. Guests enjoy fast, reliable WiFi throughout the venue, while EPOS terminals, kitchen displays, and CCTV systems run on isolated, secure VLANs.
