ARRK Europe is a global engineering and manufacturing company specialising in product development, prototyping and low-volume production. Their UK operations span three sites - Nuneaton (headquarters), Gloucester, and Teesside - requiring seamless connectivity for their engineering teams working on collaborative projects across all locations.
The Challenge
With three geographically dispersed sites across the UK, ARRK needed their engineering and manufacturing teams to operate as one unified network. Staff regularly access shared CAD files, product data, and collaborative tools across all locations. The challenge was delivering a consistent, high-performance user experience whether working from Nuneaton, Gloucester, or Teesside - with secure, reliable connectivity between sites and automatic failover to ensure business continuity.
Our Solution
We deployed a comprehensive Fortinet SD-WAN solution linking all three ARRK sites into a single unified network. Each location received redundant FortiGate firewalls - FG-60F units at the larger sites and FG-40F at smaller locations - with Fortinet switches providing the LAN backbone. Secure encrypted tunnels connect all sites with intelligent traffic routing that automatically selects the optimal path for each application. The Nuneaton headquarters also received 17 Cambium XV2-2 access points for comprehensive WiFi coverage across their manufacturing and office areas.
The Result
All three ARRK sites now operate as a single unified network with seamless connectivity for staff regardless of location. The SD-WAN fabric provides intelligent application routing - prioritising real-time collaboration tools and CAD transfers while optimising bandwidth usage. Automatic failover ensures business continuity if any link experiences issues. The centralised management through FlexZone gives ARRK's IT team a single pane of glass view across all three sites, simplifying operations and enabling rapid response to any network events.
