Frequently asked questions

Can I keep my existing phone numbers?
Yes. We port your numbers from your current provider - landlines, local numbers, even 0800 numbers. There's usually a few weeks lead time, but we can set up temporary forwarding so you don't miss calls during the switch.
What internet speed do I need for VoIP?
Each concurrent call needs about 100Kbps. For most offices, your existing broadband is fine - but we'll assess your connection and recommend upgrades if needed. QoS settings on your firewall ensure calls get priority over other traffic.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Calls can automatically forward to mobiles, or you can use the 3CX mobile app over 4G/5G. We can also set up failover SIP trunks on backup connections for critical sites.
Do I need special phones?
You can use dedicated VoIP desk phones (we supply Yealink), or just use the 3CX apps on your computer and mobile. Most businesses use a mix - phones on desks, apps for remote workers.
How long does installation take?
Simple setups can be live within a week. Larger deployments with number porting and multiple sites typically take 2-4 weeks. We'll give you a clear timeline upfront.
